This soup is sometimes referred to as, "Healing Cabbage Soup". The ingredients in the recipe are shown to help relieve the symptoms of a common cold. That sounds like a good idea in the middle of winter right? The recipe is an easy weeknight meal. You could also throw everything in a crockpot if you would rather come home to dinner made. My only suggestion would be to add the coleslaw about 30 minutes before you are ready to eat. Then the cabbage stays a little bit on the firm side instead of mushy. Whatever you decide, this will probably become a winter time staple for your family too!
