Stovetop Foil Dinners

Today's Helpful Tips

So funny story, a few years ago some other lady volunteers and I were in charge of taking our youth teenage girls to a church girl's camp. We sat down with the girls to try to decide what to eat when we would be at camp. Of course the girl's wanted Foil Dinners. That is a staple while camping. My sweet friend Shauntel, was concerned that it would be too much to try to make the foil dinners in the wilderness and so she took all the ingredients and cooked them up on her stovetop. Then the girls all compiled what they wanted in their foil dinner and placed in foil packets. The girls wrote their names with a sharpie on the foil and then placed the meals in individual zip top bags. We froze the meals. When we went to camp all we had to do was pull the bags out of the cooler and place in the fire for just like 5 minutes. This was by far the easiest meal we ever had at camp.

The secret with this meal is to make sure you keep adding the butter.  You seriously use a whole cube of butter.  It obviously makes it taste amazing but it also helps to ensure that the vegetables don't stick to the pan while cooking.  You may even want to keep this recipe for your secret menu item while camping.
